The Wetlands of the Western Springs Lakeside 

Te Wai Orea - The waters of the Eel

 
Located in West Auckland, next to Auckland Zoo & Motat, Museum of Transport & Technology, this park offers walk ways, lush green lawns many park benches, picnic tables and a play area for children, making this an ideal picnic spot for the family.  The park is also home to a number of birds such as Pied Shag/Karuhiruhi, New Zealand/Papango, New Zealand Dab Chick/Weweia, Pukeko, Australasian Coot, Little Shag/Kawaupaka, Mallard Duck, Common Domestic Goose, Black Swan (Australian Native) and Grey Duck/Parera
